A Little About OthercatI started working online in early 2008. That first year was a mess of GPT sites, PTC sites, survey sites and writing sites. I joined so many make-money websites, I couldn't keep track of them all. Most of them turned out to be scams, but a few actually made me money. One of those great sites is Squidoo.
With Squidoo, I write articles (called lenses) and then get paid for them. I get a monthly payment based on how each one ranks within the site (called a tier payment) and I also get paid for selling stuff through Amazon and Ebay. At first, my payments we're too low to even make the minimum payout level of $5. But over time, I've learned what works and what doesn't work. I've learned that even the best articles won't get traffic without using keywords. I've learned the best way to make a sale is to offer a great product relevant to the subject of the lens. I've learned that people always want more information than I've provided, so a few relevant links only raises the quality of my lens. Now my monthly payments are 3 figures and getting bigger each month. I'm very active on Squidoo. I'm a Giant Squid, meaning I've written at least 100 amazing lenses. I'm also a Squid Angel, which means I get to visit other lenses and when I find one I think is great, I can bless it to give it a little boost in rank. A Little About My LensesSquidoo lets me write about pretty much anything I want. Because of that, I have lenses on a wide variety of topics. The subjects I'm passionate about are mental health, herbal healing, my family and pets, and ways to save money. Because I enjoy writing about these, I have many lenses in those areas.
But I don't limit myself. I also write about products I've tried, singers I admire, my favorite recipes, things I find funny, gifts I recommend, places I visit, and pretty much anything else that pops into my mind. I even have a whole list of topics I want to write about in the future. Right now, I'm living my dream. I always wanted to be a writer but I knew I didn't have the attention span to be able to start and finish an entire book. I knew I didn't have the pushy attitude one needs to be a newspaper reporter. And I know from experience that I don't have the self drive to be a blogger. So writing on Squidoo is the one way I can follow my dreams (without going broke). As I'm writing this, I've followed my dream to the tune of 191 articles. I figured it was about time to sort them and maybe even show them off a little, and I've decided this is the perfect place. Slowly but surely, I'll be categorizing and showcasing my lenses. Just look up top! My Number 1 ArticleMy Coke Rewards: Get Free Coke Codes
